Print isn't dead—it just needs a little creativity! Case in point, the new layout for Living Opportunities' quarterly newsletter. The largest nonprofit serving individuals with disabilities in Southern Oregon, this client represents why we do what we do.
A 16-page saddle-stitched booklet with fold-over front cover, the seemingly random dimensions, 9.5x7.5”, are anything but. The shape and size is intentionally identical to an iPad. Our goal was to make this piece as irresistibly interactive as if it the user were browsing their favorite mobile device. Just like the iPad rotates, so does the newsletter. Calls to action are illustrated as buttons, later hyperlinked for the newsletter’s online PDF.
Rather than giving donors the same old same old, this piece engaged and enlightened a more diverse readership and helped bridge the gap between the client's print and online presence.
