Working with small businesses brings me a special kind of happiness. Case in point: Red Bird Knitting, known more informally as Robyn Reddekop. When Robyn was a young girl, her father gave her and her brother nicknames: Red Bird and Red Fox. Twenty-odd years later, Robyn started a blog called Red Bird Knitting which features “patterns, projects & past times of an amateur knitter.” The proud recipient of one of her scarves, I can assure you she is anything but amateur.
For Robyn’s brand, we wanted something that would echo the playful nature of her nickname and the beautiful craftsmanship of her work. A robin perched on a ball of yarn served as the trademark, mimicking a worm being pulled from the ground. Scarlet served as the predominant color, complimented by robin’s egg blue.
To give the logo a hand crafted feel, we had a custom stamp produced by Impress Rubber Stamps. 5-10 business days later, we were stamping everything in sight.
