In this economy, expansion is usually the last thing on a business owner’s mind. However, when you’re in the bike business and gas prices are going nowhere but up, expansion is your new reality.
Just in time for Christmas, Tacoma Bike opened its second location in the family-friendly Proctor District. The expansion necessitated new business cards, as well as directions from one store to the other (sometimes only one store has a part in stock). I designed the map above to feature both driving and biking directions, using custom QR codes to download directions straight onto your smartphone.
Tacoma Bike also made the switch to an official Business Page on Facebook, which features the new Timeline and Insights app designed to track visitor activity. I even found a way to integrate our newsletter sign-up, and designed a custom icon using Facebook’s design style.
With Bike Month fast approaching, we’re anticipating a slew of two-wheeled events including the Bike Swap, Zeitbike, and even a bike-themed film showing at Red Hot. We also launched a weekly women’s ride (who I’ve been riding with every Sunday) and bike maintenance series for women. Community outreach? Yeah, we’ve got it.
