As a Seattle-based graphic designer, you know you’ve “arrived” when your logo becomes a tap handle at one of Tom Douglas’ restaurants.
Case in point — Neigel Vintners hard pear cider. Lifelong residents of the Wenatchee Valley, brothers Mark and Kevin realized their dream of crafting cider on their great-grandfather’s land in the Fall of 2013. Available on several vendors’ shelves in the Central Washington region, NV recently secured a coveted spot on tap at Bravehorse Tavern in downtown Seattle.
Sharing a glass of Half Past Prudent with Kevin to celebrate their success, he exclaimed “Eleven dollars??” shocked by their markup. He was clearly still a country boy at heart. I pointed to the building towering over us. “See that?” I said. “That’s Amazon.”
