Specializing in on-demand bike rental, PedalAnywhere rivals the likes of Zipcar in the two-wheeled market. Looking to upgrade their existing brand, the client commissioned a new brand strategy and supporting collateral. Extensive market research was conducted to identify the exact customer base and brand positioning. A regional badge system was developed along with pricing cards.

Nestled in the idyllic Snoqualmie Valley, Twin Spruce Studios offers beginning to advanced piano & cello lessons. The studio needed an expressive brand that would reflect its founders’ creativity and artistry. Vivid watercolors harmonized with thoughtful typography in a classic case of art inspired by music.

Born in a kitchen in San Francisco, Mama's Cookies is on its way to becoming a Bay Area staple. Originally developed to help new mothers increase and improve their milk supply, Mama's has since attracted a loyal following of athletes, healthy families and individuals with gluten and insulin sensitivity. The brand was built from the ground up, followed by a web and social media presence, package design, trade show advertising and print collateral.

After a year of no snow and near bankruptcy, Mt Ashland needed some serious help. Thankfully, Ullr delivered, and a good ol' fashioned poster series helped bring the mountain back to life. The posters were so popular guests stole them from the lodge, and B'Night 2016 garnered the most ticket sales in the past six years.

Pro bono project
Part photographer, part yogi, and part public relations guru, Laura Lowery sought to unify her passions under one brand. The mark was created using gouache on transparent acrylic, with a supporting color palette, pattern/texture set, and typographic guidelines. The brandbook was Japanese bound with the original paintings recycled as dust jacket.

Shaken Sweet Tea launched in select markets in the Southern US. The campaign featured hand-lettered typography created using a projector and some junk wood from the Starbucks HQ scrap pile, and a patio photo shoot with Armstrong Pitts Studio directed by yours truly.

A pseudonym combining “benevolence” and “velo”, Benevelo raises money for various charitable organizations through long-distance bicycle rides such as Reach the Beach, the Red Bell 100 and the Courage Classic. Hand-baked goods were distributed to donors as an added Thank You.
Crafted by two brothers from the Wenatchee Valley, Neigel Vintners offers distinctly flavorful pear cider, which can be found in taprooms across the region including Tom Douglas' Brave Horse Tavern. Starting with their logo, NV’s flirtatious branding expanded to include packaging and digital marketing driven by clean lines with a modern twist.

R.A.W. (Real Active Women) Retreats is an opportunity for women to restore body and soul through cycling and yoga. This all-in-one map was designed to accompany guests throughout their tour of Vashon Island, complete with each day’s route/altitude, points of interest, and even the retreat itinerary. Designed to fit perfectly in your bike jersey pocket.
Seattle's most enthusiastic and engaged volunteer organization, Seattle Works supports projects throughout the city. Various campaigns are advertised via social media, email marketing and print collateral. Event swag including T-shirts and custom growlers were more than well-received by Seattle Works' primarily Millennial participants.

To increase domestic enrollment in North America, The Association of Boarding Schools commissioned a video promoting the North American Boarding Initiative (NABI). Consisting entirely of motion text and illustrations, the video was premiered at the TABS annual conference in Boston.

Lucia Journal is an independent, ad-free women's magazine. Intimate guidance was provided in the early design stages, including brand development, grid structure/layout, and aesthetic standards for editorial content and photography. Ongoing design feedback has propelled Lucia from its grassroots beginnings to a $12,500 Indiegogo campaign to a bookstore shelf near you.

Winner: Seattle Design Foundation Popular Vote Grant
Founded by pro-skier Lynsey Dyer, SheJumps' mission is to increase the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities. Hosted by the Seattle Mountaineers, SheJumps' first Wild Skills event attracted a herd of tutu-clad girls itching to learn survival skills, first aid and rock climbing basics. The event journal debuted the event logo and featured hand-drawn illustrations.

To speak to its athletic and health-minded Pacific Northwest clientele, P3 needed an energetic brand that worked as hard they do.

Inspired by their long-distance romance, shared loved for the outdoors, and the groom’s vocation as a hydrologist, Holly & Kyle’s invitation featured topographical maps from each of their hometowns and the location of their wedding, each painstakingly traced by hand. Printed with red and white ink on kraft, the end result was natural, playful and personal.
Bob's Smokin' Hardwood's "sustainable business model" includes repurposing prunings from local fruit orchards as premium grilling and smoking material. Offering high-end hardwoods grown in the USA, Bob's serves a niche market in the backyard BBQ industry. A minimalist Western brand aesthetic grew into a variety of digital media, packaging and marketing materials.
