Karly presenting at Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses

Equally calm in a crevasse or conference room, your coach’s experience as a guide runs deep.

Karly’s teaches clients to thrive in any environment by cross training in the zone she calls ‘navigating the creative wilderness.’ Through physical challenge in harsh alpine conditions complemented by careful study of Buddhism and Taosim, she has honed a technique for teaching entrepreneurs to quiet the mind, tap the font of creativity, and perform at your best despite extreme pressure, self-doubt or anxiety.

Between her corporate hazing and entrepreneurial beginnings, Karly spent four seasons living in Alaska and the Yukon Territory. She is a certified Outdoor Emergency Care Technician and volunteer with the National Ski Patrol. She doesn’t mind the cold.

A nomad at heart, Karly lived and worked remotely for 8 years—including driving 15,000 miles solo in her motorhome. For her 30th birthday, she walked 500 miles across Spain on the Camino de Santiago, all while running her business from her iPhone. Her father, an immigrant, pilot and entrepreneur, is Karly’s business role model. Which makes Karly a dual citizen with the Czech Republic.

A graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program (the equivalent of an executive-level MBA), Karly drank through a fire hose to learn hard skills such as operations, negotiation, finance and business development.

Karly founded her branding and web agency, Karma, on the belief that good goes around. She and her women-led team build, guide and launch brands that place people and planet over profit.

As creative director, Karly has managed over 20 team members, and together they have served over 130 clients. With budgets exceeding $80K, Karma’s target clients include purpose-driven for-profits such as B Corps and members of 1% for the Planet, as well as established nonprofits such as The Center for Earth, Energy & Democracy. (Yep, Karma designed and developed the CEED website.)

Karly believes that the world is a better place when we do what we love, which takes courage and confidence. Like her idols, mountain climbers and explorers like Sir Ernest Shackleton, she believes that no challenge is insurmountable.

An avid writer and speaker, Karly yammers regularly on topics like the future of work, women’s reproductive health, productivity and businessfor good.

She is committed to creating a rising tide that lifts all boats, because every voice deserves to be heard and valued equally.
